Bio
Dr. Birinder K. Mangat is a Specialist in General Internal Medicine (GIM) and a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC. She completed her MD and Internal Medicine residency at UBC and went on to complete her GIM fellowship at the University of Calgary. She has completed additional training in hypertension and is an ASH Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. She holds a Masters of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Currently, Dr. Mangat runs hypertension clinics at St. Paul’s Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital and also works on inpatient Internal Medicine services. She has a passion for medical education, starting as Chief Medical Resident at UBC and now teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. In addition, she has worked for the World Hypertension League and has published several peer-reviewed articles.
