Bio

Dr. Yung practices primarily at St. Paul’s Hospital, where he provides care to hospitalized patients with complex acute medical problems at the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU). In addition, Dr. Yung piloted the IMPCT (Internal Medicine Perioperative Care Team) service at St. Paul’s Hospital, which provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative internal medicine care of the complex surgical patients. He has close collaboration with the Department of Surgery and Department of Anesthesiology.

His areas of interest include perioperative care of surgical patients, management of multisystem chronic diseases, and integration of point-of-care ultrasound into clinical practice.

Dr. Yung received his MD from the University of Toronto and completed his Internal Medicine residency and General Internal Medicine fellowship at UBC. Afterwards at McMaster University, he also finished the Perioperative Vascular Medicine training program under the mentorship of Dr. P.J. Devereaux.
