Bio

Dr. Tessaro is a General Internal Medicine specialist at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. He completed his bachelor of science in biochemistry at the University of Victoria followed by medical school, core Internal Medicine residency, and General Internal Medicine fellowship at the University of British Columbia.

He completed his Clinical Educator Fellowship at the Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES) at UBC and his Master of Health Profession Education (MHPE) at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at UBC and is the Postgraduate Program Director for the UBC General Internal Medicine fellowship training program.

Research

Dr. Tessaro’s research interests are in the field of Medical Education. These include transitions in practice, self-regulated learning, contextual competence, and enhancing ambulatory education.

Teaching

Dr. Tessaro is an active instructor, facilitator, and committee member with the UBC medical school, Internal Medicine residency program and General Internal Medicine fellowship program.
