Bio

Dr. Colleen Foster practices at the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) as a General Internist on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU), the inpatient perioperative medicine consultation service, and in the RCH Rapid Access Internal Medicine clinic. She also practices Obstetric Medicine at BC Women’s Hospital and Jim Pattison Outpatient Center. She is a Clinical Instructor in the UBC Department of Medicine.

Dr. Foster completed her MD undergraduate degree, core internal medicine residency and general internal medicine fellowship at UBC.  She gained additional expertise in Obstetric Internal Medicine through the fellowship program at BC Women’s Hospital and the University of Calgary. Obstetric Internal Medicine focuses on the management of medically complex patients before, during and after pregnancy. 

Dr. Foster has a particular interest in medical education.  She is the UBC Department of Medicine DSSL for RCH and is responsible for the evaluation of medical students rotating through RCH. She is also part of the organizing committee for the annual Medical Disorders of Pregnancy conference hosted in Vancouver, BC.
