Bio

Dr. Tara Cessford is a General Internist practicing at the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU), the inpatient Perioperative Medicine consultation service, and in the RCH Hypertension Clinic. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UBC Department of Medicine.

Dr. Cessford completed her MD undergraduate degree and Internal Medicine residency at UBC.  She obtained fellowship training in point of care ultrasound (PoCUS) through the Emergency Medicine program at Vancouver General Hospital.  Dr. Cessford gained additional exposure to the management of resistant and secondary hypertension during her residency training, and is a Clinical Hypertension Specialist recognized by the American Society of Hypertension.  

Dr. Cessford has a particular interest in medical administration and education.  She is the RCH GIM Division Head and Director of the RCH CTU.
